I John 4 7-16

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3 but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world. 4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. 5 They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them. 6 We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood. 7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. 13 We know that we live in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him and he in God. 16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.

God Is LOVE! Do we love the world like God loves the world?

faith

Luke 17:20
He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, `Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. "

I woke up this morning with this verse embedded in my thoughts. I opened my Bible to this very passage this morning. I knew that it what He wanted me to start my day with! Isnt it amazing how God shows us what He wants us to think of!!

Lately God has been showing me His desire for me to have that faith. The smallest of all faith. Faith that he is going to provide for me. Things in this economy are slowly taking everything that I know away. My job, my health, my home... I have thrown myself at the feet of my Savior. You know. He hasnt let me down yet. I have food on my table and a shelter over my head. His Love is truely amazing. Through my faith I have been able to witness to my friends and family. Showing them all that God has in store for me. I have come to the conclusion that God has something in store for me. Something better than I could have ever imagined. He has a plan. I need to have the faith of a mustard seed.

The Mustard seed is a wonderful picture. Have you ever actually looked at one? They are smaller than the "o" in this sentence. The smallest of seeds. Having a faith that small and yet God tells us that with that faith we can move mountians. I pray that we all can have that faith. The faith to move the mountains in our lives. As BIG as the smallest ant hill or as SMALL as the biggest mountain I Pray for Faith.

Planting Seeds

While watching this video on Godtube.com I was reminded of the parable of the Mustard Seed.

Luke 13:18-19
"Then Jesus asked, What is the kingdom of God like? What shall I compare it to? It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his garden. It grewand became a tree, and the birds of the air perched on its branches."

For some people knowing God is just part of everyday life. For others, they have heard but do know the entire truth. For some they have never heard anything at all. I think that its my responsibility, as a Christian, to make sure that I do everything that I can do share Gods good news with the world.

There is a huge possibility that there is at least one non-christian in this group. Can you imagine the seed that was planted in that heart? To be shown that there are that many of the people that surround them in thier every day life... LOVE GOD!! Amazing thoughts

Go and share your mustard seeds with the people that surround YOU.

Giving

II Corinthians 9:7 says: Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."

God loves a cheerful giver. This is something that I have been thinking about recently giving the upcoming holiday season. I am like many other Americans and have been hit hard by the plunging economy. This year my family has decided to do a "homemade" Christmas. We are all giving either homemade gifts or practical things. ( heating oil, gift cards for the grocery store, ETC.)
However, above and beyond the giving season. I think of Thanksgiving. Telling God how thankful I am for everything that he has done for me. For example, it is the end of November and we have not been able to turn on the heat yet due to lack of oil and lack of money. I just made the phone call to have some oil delivered today. I am thankful for Gods gift of the money that he provided for us to get some oil. Amazing how greatful that I have become during this economically decline. How are you thankful for what he has given you?
